God rested from creation, Jesus rested from redemption

Reflection

Jesus said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath; i.e. He is the Lord of rest; Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5.

Jesus rested from His perfect finished work of redemption and is now seated at the right hand of God.

Just as God rested on the seventh day after He had completed His work of creation.

A redeemed creation was the original idea.

Redemption has never been an afterthought.

Sabbath points to Jesus’ perfect finished work of redemption.

The last uttered word of Jesus was “Finished!” or “kalah” in Hebrew , meaning “cease” and Tetelestai in Greek, “meaning debt paid in full” [John 19:28-30].

God rested when His work of creation was completed. Jesus rested when His work of redemption was accomplished.

A redeemed creation, a new creation, has been birthed; Christians!

To create human beings, God only need to speak. But to redeem human beings, He needed to bleed.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Humans to create, God only need to speak.
Humans to redeem, God needed to bleed.
For you , love came to seek.
Through His Beloved promised Seed.
