I
have heard it preached that we will lose our fellowship with God when we sin.
But Christ died for us when we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). He died to
bring us close to God!
I would like to put it rather crudely to drive home the
point. I do not need a driving licence
to do this.
When we sin, God will kick the ass of that sin out of our
lives!
When a crook tries to harm our children, we will get that
crook out of their lives. Imagine the parent telling the child: “You get that
crook out of your life first. Then I
will love you again.”. This is as good as telling the child to clean up first
before taking a bath! The child is none
the wiser and needs the help of the parent to get rid of that crook!
We have this peace with God because God is not counting our
trespasses against us through Christ crucified (2 Corinthians 5:18-20,
Colossians 1:20).
