Reading the Word of God for Self

This post is an extract from the book, Her Seed.

According to the Bible, we need to let the Word take root.
Acts 17:10-12
Mark 4:16-17
The Berean Jews received the message with great eagerness.
And others are like seed sown on rocky ground. When they hear the word, immediately they receive it with joy.
They examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
But they have no root; they are short-lived.
As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.
When distress or persecution comes because of the word, they immediately fall away.

This is the stark contrast between one who reads the word for himself and one who does not. The former is firmly rooted against the howling wind of deceit while the latter is uprooted and blown away by it.
At this point, I would like to state that words importing the masculine gender in this book also includes females.
The test of the pudding is in the eating. To enjoy the good spread before you, you need to eat it. To taste the goodness of the Lord, you need to read the Word for yourself.
Jesus is not here physically for us to behold (2 Corinthians 3:18).
So where else can we behold His glory except in the Holy Bible.
Christianity is not a religion. It is about having a rich relationship with a loving Daddy God on a daily basis and that relationship is built on the Word of God.
