The word “sinner” carries with it the stigma of a derogatory term.
But in reality, sinners are victims of fraud. And the fraudster is Satan!
To be angry with sinners is like being angry with the injured rather than the one who caused the injuries. Satan is the shit stirrer. After stirring shit, he deftly side-stepped himself out of the picture, leaving the deceived to kill each other (Galatians 5:15).
We have been born with a sinful nature. We were born victims of that fraud.
We were born sinners the same way someone is born rich or poor. The baby did nothing to be in that situation.  It was the ancestors who brought about it.
The desire to be on the throne of God became the dominant part of human nature; the nature of Satan. Consequently, the innocent nature became corrupted (Genesis 3:5, Isaiah 14:14).
The attempt to build the Tower of Babel that would reach the heavens, under the leadership of Nimrod, was an expression of Satan’s desire to make himself like the Most High (Genesis 11:1-4).
What is wrong with building a tower that would reach the heavens?
It is the same as asking, “Is that sin?”
Firstly, it was an expression of Satan’s desire to be like God. Secondly, they did it so as to make a name for themselves and not be scattered all over the surface of the earth (Genesis 11:4). It was blatant defiance of God’s will (Genesis 1:28).
Lets’ take a look at the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17):
1.     You shall not have other Gods but me.
2.     You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
3.     You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
4.     You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy.
5.     Respect your father and mother.
6.     You shall not commit murder.
7.     You shall not commit adultery.
8.     You shall not steal.
9.     You shall not give false evidence against your neighbour.
10.            You shall not be envious of your neighbour's goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour.
When we look at the Ten Commandments, we see that the attempt to build the Tower of Babel violated the first three commandments:
1.     To make a name for themselves tantamount to making and worshipping self as a god when there is only ONE God (Exodus 20:2-3);
2.     The Tower itself would serve as an image of worship against the second commandment (Exodus 20:4); and
3.     To disregard His will for them to spread across the earth was a misuse of the name of God. He is His will and Name.
The first three commandments call for a right relationship with God and the attempt to build the Tower of Babel was a rejection of God. Humanly speaking, it is like disowning your father, and a loving one at that.
Without the Law, one would not have known the implications of a seemingly innocent endeavour. On the contrary, it would have drawn applause and admiration from men. Therein lies the subtleness of Satan’s deceit. No wonder the Bible says that “men who profess themselves wise, became fools”, as in not knowing the Truth (Romans 1:22).
In other words, kena conned; snookered.
“Kena” is a Malay word used to describe someone that is on the receiving end of something unpleasant.  It can also mean the person is suffering or afflicted from something.
It is for this very purpose that the Law was given; to show sin up so that sin might be recognized as sin (Romans 7:7).
The Law is holy, just, and good (Romans 7:12). It was designed to bring one to the end of self and to the awareness of the need for a Savior (Galatians 3:24).
