One of the meanings of the word “endowed” is to provide freely.

Jesus freely provides salvation (John 3:16, Romans 8:32). But it cost Him His life.

Does this not remind us of Genesis 2:16?

We may freely partake of the salvation but of the Law, do not eat. This is because by the Law shall no man be justified (Romans 3:20, Galatians 3:11).

This speaks of the love and generosity of God. He literally loves us with His life!

Don’t play play! It is Singlish meaning “don’t mess around”.

Speak softly, love
And hold me warm against your heart
I feel your words
The tender trembling moments start
We're in a world, our very own
Sharing a love that only few have ever known
— Love Theme From the Godfather

This reminds me of the book “Chasing the Dragon” by Jackie Pullinger.

It is about how she successfully brought many to Christ in Hong Kong; precious souls trapped within the infamous Walled City which was a haven of filth, crime, and sin. As she shared the love of Christ, brutal hoods were transformed, prostitutes freed themselves from the trade, and heroin junkies were empowered to break free from the bondage of drug addiction.

There was an account of a “settlement talk” between she and a triad gang leader. Her knees were knocking against each other as she tried to convince him to release some of his members. Years later, that same gang leader revealed that he was trembling in fear back then as he saw fire in her eyes.

The Bible has a similar account of how two people dropped dead when they tried to cheat the church (Acts 5:1-11). I believe they sacred themselves to death. Just like that gang leader, the couple must have seen something that literally scared the life out of them.

This is the work of Satan. He will cause people to do things that result in fear and then kill them with it.

Jesus is the only Source of salvation (Acts 4:12; 13:38-39, Hebrews 5:9, 1 Peter 2:7).

He is the Gospel (Romans 1:3).

The apostle Paul said the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16).
