In John 17:1-2, Jesus regarded His crucifixion as glorious.

Jesus said that foxes have holes and birds, nests to rest. But the Son of Man has no place to lay His Head (Matthew 8:20, Luke 9:58).

When Jesus was on the cross, He bowed his head and gave up his spirit (John 19:30).

The same Greek word “klinó” is used for “lay” and “bow”.

Put your head on my shoulder
Hold me in your arms, baby
Squeeze me oh-so-tight
Show me that you love me too
— Put Your Head On My Shoulder

Remember what Jesus said in John 4:31-34? He had food for nourishment that we know not of. Jesus was nourished when souls were saved.

Jesus’ resting place was on the Cross. Jesus found rest in redemption.

God rested when Creation was completed. Jesus rested when redemption was accomplished.
