1 Peter 2:2-3 is linked to Psalm 34:8 which is in the context of God as the Provider and Saviour.
This passage of scripture is about feeding on the Word of God to be nurtured and to grow. This is exactly the emphasis of this book.
Therefore, when we put the two verses side-by-side, we see that to feed on God’s Word is to take from Him.
This ties in with the concept of Lecham and Lacham. When we feed on the word of God, He fights our battles!
It is God’s mercy that leads men to repentance, the “unblinding” of the mind that has been blinded by Satan (Romans 2:4, 2 Corinthians 4:4).
