Gospel means Good News.

Why is the promised Seed Good News?

It is Good News because God the Son (the promised Seed) came personally to pay our sin debt in full and exposed the lie that has led us astray, causing us to suffer needlessly.

When Jesus said, “It is finished” in John 19:30, that was what it meant in Greek.

TETELESTAI! "PAID IN FULL!"

THREE words in English, ONE word in Greek.

It brings to mind the Holy Trinity; "Tri" meaning three, and "Unity" meaning one. It is Three-in-One.

It is like you committed a crime and yet someone else served prison time for you legally. You walked away scot-free.

Yet, that does not provide an incentive to commit more crimes (Romans 6:14).

Why would anyone take salvation as a blanket approval to continue to be deceived?

When we know that what we have been doing was a result of deception that leads to sure destruction, shouldn’t we stop doing them and start doing what the Truth is showing us?

Is this not what James 2:14-26 mean? How can I say I do not believe in the lie and yet continue to live by it? I speak what I believe. And what I speak will determine my actions.

I don’t see that as justification by works but an awakening to my righteousness in Christ (Isaiah 60:1, Romans 13:11, Ephesians 5:14). Isn’t that how the Truth shall set me free (John 8:32)?

But wouldn’t it bring us back to Romans 7:15-24?

The answer is provided in Romans 7:25.

I believe when we make a conscious decision to forgo the lie, the blessed Holy Spirit will empower us to live a life in the Truth (John 14:26, John 15:26, John 16:13).

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil by revealing his deceit through the truth that sets us free (John 8:32, 1 John 3:8). When one genuinely believes in the truth and rejects the lie, why would that same one continue to live by the lie? How can we who are dead to sin live therein any longer (Romans 6:2)?

Genuine believers may be deceived by Satan every now and then. He is crafty and shrewd (Genesis 3:1). Let’s face it. Satan has been at it since the beginning of time.

But we need not feel condemned when we stumble. We know that the precious Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).

The Light or Truth is that Christ crucified has caused God to remember our sins and lawless deeds no more. When we walk or live in that Light or truth, the blood of the Son of God cleanses us from all sin.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (1 John 1:9).

The word “confession” is “homologeó” in Greek. It means to:

1. Agree; and/or
2. Speak the same.>br />

By that, it means we agree and speak the same as what God has said about our sins.

And God said that our sins and lawless deeds He shall REMEMBER NO MORE!

God is just to do that because Christ crucified has satisfied every judicial demand. Justice has been served.

God is faithful to do that because He honors the Cross.

Our lives may look like a mess right now. But God always finishes what He first began. He is not a quitter (Philippians 1:6, Ephesians 2:10).

Even if we quit, He never (Romans 3:3-4).

It is as good as saying, “Lord, I can’t. But You can!”. Lord, I quit but You won’t. You take over.

“Hadoken!”.

This is the signature move of Ryu, the Street Fighter.

I have always pronounced “Hadoken” as “Ahhhhh you can!”

Our hope is in Him Who has the power to change us; not our will power (Hebrews 12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18).

Jesus is the “Ahhhhh You can” power!

We look to Jesus and let Him do His thing.

We are not under the pressure of a deadline to demonstrate positive changes or what others think of us. God has His Own schedule and His approval is all that matters (Matthew 7:3-5, Romans 14:4).

I am beginning to subscribe to the sermon that our taste for things in life will change as we progress in our walk with God (1 Peter 4:3-5).

The word "salvation" in Greek is “sōtēria”.

Salvation does not just mean being saved from hell. It includes healing, wholeness, preservation, protection, and prosperity. It comes in a package.

The power of God to save is the gospel. When the gospel is declared, the power of God is released and it is the power of God unto salvation.

The power of God can preserve us and heal us physically and emotionally.

The power of God can save our relationships and marriage.

Let’s not isolate God’s “saving” to just one area of our lives.

The Gospel has never been an afterthought.

The Gospel preceded creation.

I would venture to say that if the triune God had not put in place the Gospel first, there wouldn’t have been a creation.

Long before anything was created, God the Father already had the Gospel in mind. He already pre-planned the sacrifice of God the Son. And God the Son did it willingly (John 10:11-13).

Salvation became a reality only because God the Son as Jesus the Man had absolute and complete trust in God the Father to raise Him from the dead. The salvation plan is an epitome of complete trust.

God the Son emptied Himself of His deity and came in the flesh. He debased Himself further by dying the most humiliating death on the Cross meant for the most condemned of criminals.

He trusted God the Father to raise Him from death by the power of God the Holy Spirit.

Had Jesus the Man shrunk from His faith in God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, the salvation plan would have been aborted.

When God the Son walked the earth, He operated as a full-fledged human being, relying solely on God the Father and working by the power of God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the Author and the Perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We ride on His faith, not ours.

He is the mustard seed faith that makes all things possible (Matthew 17:20).

He is the Perfect example of what it is like to completely trust in the amazing love of the extraordinary father.
