Gilead was especially
noted for its balm, a healing ointment, collected from "balm of
Gilead" trees.
Gilead
was a type of Jesus as the Healer, Jehovah Rophi (Exodus 15:26).
When we accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior, His Blood paid for every sin that we can ever
conceive, resulting in our free pardon.
The unpardonable sin is
rejecting Jesus as personal Lord and Savior.
It is as good as rejecting the only cure for AIDS, figuratively
speaking.
If a criminal who has been
sentenced to death rejects a free pardon, the outcome is obvious. He remains a
criminal on death row.
Jesus is not just the Healer
of our souls (Psalm 41:4). He is also
the Healer of physical ailments (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24).
