God’s purpose:
1. Salvation through Christ Jesus (Romans 1:3; 16);
2. Jesus to execute righteousness and justice by His crucifixion as the righteous foundation to make sinners righteous (Romans 3:21-26);
3. Hold back judgment until the final and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus (Romans 3:21-26);
4. Temporarily hardened the heart of Israel to reject Jesus so that salvation will be made available to Gentiles (Romans 11); and
5. Make Israel jealous over what they have forfeited so as to be gracious to them with the end result of availing salvation to all (Romans 11).
