God did not abuse His authority and power as the Supreme Divine Judge to “close one eye” to sin. He meted out the due punishment on God the Son as Jesus the Man.
Therefore, God is righteous in making sinners righteous!
God could pardon sinners and not remember their sins only because God the Son took the punishment. It is a gift of forgiveness to sinners but it came with a hefty price tag on God’s part.
